National Awards for Dabangg and Adaminte Makan Abu

Salman Khan’s Dabangg won an award for ‘wholesome entertainment’ from the the India’s most prestigious awards for films -The National Awards. A Malayalam film, Adaminte Makan Abu, has been selected the best film.

Adaminte Makan Abu‘s director Vetriraman Raman has also won the award for best direction. Marathi actress Mitali Jagtap and Tamil actress Saranya share the award of best actress for their outstanding acting in Marathi film Babnu Band Bajaa and Tamil film Pirivannam respectively. Dhanush was for his role in Aadukalam and actor Malayalactor Salim Kumar for his role in the Malayalam filmAdamante Makan Abu were awarded the best actor award.

Vishal Bharadwaj was awarded the best music director and his wife Rekha was awarded best playback singer. Do Dooni Chaar was awarded the best Hindi film.
