Shammi Kapoor an introduction
Shammi was born on October 21, 1931. Birth name of Shammi was Shamsher Raj Kapoor and he was the second of the three sons of actor Prithviraj Kapoor.
Shammi Kapoor was considered one the most refined actors in Hindi cinema. After his debut in 1953 in the film ‘Jeevan Jyoti’ he proved himself as a very versatile actor. He was the most liked and popular star in Hindi cinema during the late 1950s and the 1960s.
Some of the most remembered movies of Shammi are the hit movies like ‘Junglee’, ‘Tumsa Nahin Dekha’, ‘Dil Deke Dekho’, ‘Dil Tera Diwana’, ‘Professor’, ‘China Town’, and ‘Rajkumar’.
for his performance in ‘Brahmachari’ Shammi received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968. Similarly, for his acting in ‘Vidhaata’ he received the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1982.
