Movie based on underworld don Dawood – Lakeer Ka Fakir

A movie based on Dawood Ibrahim, India’s most wanted man, is being made by one of his own relatives. A debut movie by Zubair Khan, son-in-law of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar, is on the life and crimes of the underworld don.

The 33 year-old film maker, Zubair Khan, told that the movie titled ‘Lakeer Ka Fakir‘ will be "the most authentic movie on the underworld." He claims he had witnessed all the crimes and shootings in real locations associated with Dawood.

Like the underworld dons Karim Lala, Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, Zubair was also born in a hospital at Do Taaki in Dongri. The downtown area has been associated with the rise of Mumbai’s gangsters. Zubair claims to know every corner of the area and he tells that he feels comfortable shooting in the area. He told that he knows most of the the local residents and may were his childhood friends who know him well. Some of his friends have also appeared in the movie.

No other films based on gangsters were previously allowed to shoot in Pakmodia Street, where Dawood stayed before he fled India. The movie portrays the lives of the people exploited by underworld and politicians and residing in places like Nagpada, Chor Bazar, Bhendi Bazar and Dongri.

Lakeer Ka Fakir, made in a budget of Rs. 2.5 crore is scheduled to be released on November 25.
