Jagjit Singh in critical condition after a brain hemorrhage

The well-known Ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has suffered from a brain hemorrhage and is admitted to Lilavati Hospital, Mumbai, in critical condition. Popularly known as the Ghazal King of India, the 70-year-old singer is one of the pioneers of modern Ghazal singing.

The editor of Mid Day, Sachin Kalbag, tweeted:

Yes, it is true that noted singer Jagjit Singh suffered a brain haemorrhage. Was operated upon at Lilawati Hospital. Condition is critical.

The hospital authorities haven’t told anything about the condition of the singer. Jagjit had a history of heart ailment and the heart problem is suspected to be the cause behind the hemorrhage.
